I wasn’t a fan of Asylum Nightclub, it was practically empty when we went in and the atmosphere was pretty rubbish and the music wasn’t great at all. Considering we had to pay £6 to get in it wasn’t worth it at all and I probably wouldn’t ever go back.

I've been here loads. I love house, techno etc. Everything the doghouse used to do well. However my last experienc on a Saturday night left me very dissapointed. I used to love it here but sadly the bouncers prefer it if you're an aggresse thug. Absolutely gutted. I got to the desk where you pay and there were some blokes hanging around in high spirits. Not a problem. They were joking with me about my baby face appearance. I handed over my ID to staff and my entry fee but one bouncer took a serious disliking towards me for reasons I still don't understand and much to the surprise of those around me. Please explain why!!! I was forced to leave. I had to kick up a fuss as they still had my drivers licence and £10 entry fee which I eventually got back and then left. Always used to sing the praises of this place as a hidden gem but no more I'm afraid. I suggest you avoid at all costs unless you want your night ruined.

Had a great evening at the doghouse, mark was a great host and was wonderful showing us how to make cocktails even when some were a bit fussy he was patient with us oldies, loved the venue, cosy with lots of seating areas, will definitely go back when visiting Bristol again, thanks mark

Staff were not nice and the place was very dull for a Saturday night. Definitely need the bouncers checking on the customers due to some wanting to have a fight. We left after one round of drinks.
