Lovely school, plenty of space to use as church on Sundays.

Reconstructed my review because I had nothing better to do and thought it would more accurately reflect the school. I'll be quoting teachers. Whilst I attended here I saw truancy was one of the biggest issues in the school, it's regularly seen for students to truant within the bushes at the back of the school creating "dens" during my time I only saw two teachers ever look into stopping this. One of which just did it because of his PE lesson and the other seemed like he did it to write it down that he made an effort. I think that one's name was Mr cocks or something. You'd understand what I mean if you saw his face back then. Students are not reserved at all and tend to act out as seen fit depending how they feel. Some teachers make an effort but their influence over the students don't allow them any true say. The punishment system in this school is mediation. I believe the quote is "we don't have bullying, we have mediation". This is utter nonsense. I know of five other people in my year who were tormented by other students and one a year under me. (Can't quote names as I don't care enough to remember them) (I've also heard of a suicide related to the school and bullying not long after i left) During my time I was assigned to some of the top classes, particularly maths and English. At one point science. I enjoyed this but the students acting out made it impossible to attend or concentrate about actual lessons. When I left they were more than happy to get rid of me, predicting me F grades and glad to make thier "grades record's" look nicer. Essentially throwing me under the bus. (Bearing in mind I literally could not attend for a full year and a bit more due to concerns of personal safety. All absences were approved) After a year and a bit in a different and more unappreciated school I got all my grades hovering from B's to D's. I can only imagine what I would of gotten if I'd attended a better schooling environment. To sum it up: I don't believe this school is an effective establishment. The tactics against bullying in this school is simply sugar coted and idiotic in some ways. Id say that the teachers are bad at thier jobs if I can be out for a year and get grades as good as some leavers of the school. I believe gifted children will be wasted here. I'd like to make a statement for any "defaming" and legal action that may follow: All my points are based on actual experiences based on attending the school. My experiences are bad in relation to a majority of the school but reflect what can happen to a child that is sent here.

I had about 2 months where i actually enjoyed this school and then their shoddiness actually came through. Bullying is not dealt well here and mental health issues are seen as non-existent and would rather you be in if you've had a breakdown what i've done many of times blanking out and not even paying attention to what im doing because i am not able to. Secondly Mr Gould has actually tried putting me into this new "rtl" system what lead to me having a panic attack and having to get a family to pick me up because of it oh and another thing this rtl system does not work and i have seen no change in the school as they said it would happen. The way they are seen to the public is more looked after then there students and their so called things they do and the education is only properly done by teachers when it comes down to year 11
